Matthew grew up in Massachusetts and moved to Florida in December 2005 to become a cop. While waiting for the police academy to start, he began working for a local bail bondsman. He enjoyed the experience, and decided to pursue a career in the business. Matthew went to bail bond school in April 2006 at Roche Surety in Tampa. While in school, he completed a home school course through the University of Florida. In December 2007, after doing a year internship, he received his fulltime Bail Bondsman license and opened A Way Out Bail Bonds.
